In a game nationally-televised on ESPNU, the FC Westchester U18 team beat CASL of North Carolina. FC Westchester outlasted CASL in penalty kicks, 5-4, after playing to a 1-1 draw in the Under-18 placement match.
FC Westchester Earns Tie in First Match at U.S. Soccer Development Academy National Finals

Carson, CA (July 12) -- The FC Westchester U18 team battled the Colorado Rush to a 1-1 tie on the first day of competition at the U.S. Soccer Development Academy National Finals being held at the Home Depot Center.
The FC Westchester squad went out to a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute on a 35 yard swinging free kick by John Gallagher. About ten minutes later, the Rush almost tied the game, but FCW defender Chris Holihan cleared two rapid fire shots off the line.
About 16 minutes into the second half, the Rush equalized on a goal by Zack Foxhoven. About 10 minutes later, in a case of deja vu, a Rush defender cleared a point black shot of a free kick by Stephen Paresi to preserve the tie.
The FC Westchester squad's next match is Monday afternoon, when it takes on the Baltimore Bays. The Bays beat the Chicago Fire in today's first match 4-0 on four goals by Gatorade Natonal Player of the Year Chris Agorsor.

FC Westchester U18s Heading to National Finals of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy League

The FC Westchester U18 team has clinched te U.S. Soccer Development Academy Northeast Division title and will now head to the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Finals Week July 12 to 19 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California. Academy Finals Week will feature the top team from each Academy Conference in the U-15/16 and U-17/18 age groups. Teams will participate in a round-robin format, culminating with the finals on the last day. The event will be telecast by the various ESPN network outlets with each team in the finals having at least one game broadcast.
With two more games remaining at the Academy showcase event in Greensboro, NC, the FCW '90s now have a record of 12-9-7, seven points of ahead of its closest competition for the title, BW Gottschee.
"This is just a tremendous feat for this team; we have worked incredibly hard all season and this is a great reward for this team," said coach Christian Gonzalez.
At Friday's World Cup-like draw for the Finals week -- televised by the USSF's Upper 90 Studio program -- the FC Westchester were drawn into a group comprised of the Baltimore Bays, as well as the still to be determined winners of the Academy League's Mid-America Division and the Western Division.
FC Westchester Edges Closer to U.S. Soccer Development Northeast Division Title

The FC Westchester U18 team moved a step closer to the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Northeast Division title with a 1-1 tie this evening againt BW Gottschee in a match played at Fordham University. FC Westchester is now seven points ahead of Gottschee, with three games remaining this weekend at the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Showcase event in Greensboro, N.C.
The FC Westchester squad went up 1-0 midway through the first half on a goal by George Pourakis. Then, four minutes into the second half Gottschee countered with a score from Dimitri Antonopolous.
A few minutes later, Gottschee was awarded a penalty on a handball in the box -- which resulted in a red card - but FCW goalkeeper saved the penalty kick and the tie for FC Westchester, which played the remaining 30 minutes of the game a man down.
If the FC Westchester squad wins the division, they will head to the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Finals Week July 12 to 19 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California. FC Westchester U18s Top Met Oval 3-1 And Stay Atop U.S. Soccer Development Academy's Northeast Division Standings

The FC Westchester U18s topped Met Oval 3-1 in a U.S. Soccer Development Academy match and heading into the last four games of the season FC Westchester still lays claim to first place in the Academy's Northeast Division. The winner of the division heads to the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Finals Week July 12 to 19. The Academy Finals Week will feature the top team from each Academy Conference in the U-15/16 and U-17/18 age groups. Teams will participate in a round-robin format, culminating with a placement game on the final day.
In its Saturday win over Met Oval, the FC Westchester U18s got goals from Nicholas Jerussi and Anthony Florez (and an Met Oval own goal) to counter the lone goal from Met Oval's Walter Avans.
The FC Westchester squad next takes on BW Gottschee Tuesday evening at 8 p.m. at Fordham University. Then it completes its schedule at the Academy Showcase event next weekend in Greensboro, NC with matches versus Chicago Magic, Colorado Rush and CASA of Ohio.
Meanwhile, also on Saturday, the FC Westchester U16s and the Met Oval U16s battled to a 0-0 draw.
FC Westchester Splits U16 and U18 Matches With PDA; Ties One and Loses One Vs. Match Fit Academy In U.S. Soccer Development Academy Games

FC Westchester this weekend split its U16 and U18 games with PDAA and then tied one and lost one against Match Fit in U.S. Soccer Development Academy action.
One Saturday, in the U16 age group, FC Westchester went up 1-0 on an early goal from Ryan Patino, but then PDA came back with a goal early in the second half from Alex Bramall and then a late goal from Dylan Renya to take a 2-1 victory.
In the U18s, FC Westchester got a second half goal from Jonathan Dos Reis to capture a 1-0 win over PDA. Dan Thau got the shutout in net for FC Westchester.
On Sunday, FC Westchester’s U16s got a first half goal from Tom McNamara, but then Match Fit got a equalizer late in the game from Juan Pablo Correa to tie the game at 1-1.
In the U18s, Match Fit grabbed a 4-1 victory. John Gallagher had FC Westchester’s lone goal in the second half.

The U18s -- which remain in first place in the Academy League’s Northeast Division -- tied Clearwater Chargers 1-1, topped North Meck 5-0 and lost to the San Diego Surf 2-1. The U16s tied Clearwater 2-2, tied North Meck 1-1 and lost to the San Diego Surf 2-1.
At the showcase event, all 64 teams in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy took part and played three games throughout the weekend in front of 20 U.S. National Team scouts and more than 150 scouts from colleges and universities across the country. Approximately 100 referees, including two of U.S. Soccer’s full-time FIFA referees, officiated the weekend’s games under the watch of the U.S. Soccer Referee Education Department and other assessors.

The FC Westchester U16 squad topped the Baltimore Bays 1-0, while the FC Westchester U18s tied Baltimore Bays 1-1 in U.S. Soccer Development Academy play Saturday.
The U16 team got a goal late in the first half from Brad Jacobson and saw that goal hold up throughout the second half. Chris Todd and Tim Mingione split the shutout in goal for FCW.
The U18 team -- which came into the weekend in first place in the Northeast Division of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy League -- got its goal from Nick Jerussi, while the Bays goal came from Andrew Bulls.
FC Westchester U16s and U18s Both Win One, Lose One on Trip to New England in U.S. Soccer Development Play

Both the FC Westchester U16s and U18s scored a win and a loss on their trip to New England this weekend in U.S. Soccer Development Academy play.
On Sunday, both squads were victorious over Seacoast United at Seacoast’s soccer complex. The FC Westchester U16s won their game 4-1, getting two goals from Brad Jacobson and once each from Alex Marecki and Paolo Luciano. Chris George had Seacoast’s lone tally. Meanwhile, the FC Westchester U18s topped Seacoast 2-1, getting goals from Manhattan College bound Anthony Florez and rising senior Anthony Rozmus. Seacoast got their goal from Alex Hussesin.
On Saturday, the FC Westchester U16s lost 3-2 to FC Greater Boston, getting their two goals from Nicholas Pourakis and Justin Karr, while the FCW U18s lost to FC Greater Boston 4-2. FC Westchester got both its goals from Iona College bound George Pourakis. The FC Westchester U18s had entered the weekend in first place in the Northeast Division and now has a season record of 8-5-4 which should keep them in at least a tie for first.

The FC Westchester U16 and U18 U.S. Soccer Academy squads had a successful trip to Washington, D.C. this weekend, going 3-1 in U.S. Soccer Development Academy league play.
On Sunday, FC Westchester’s Under-16s and U-18 teams posted victories over their counterparts at the Potomac Soccer Club in U.S. Soccer Development Academy action at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. The U-16 won its match, 2-1, behind a first-half goal from Juan Diego Ocampo and a second half tally from Brad Jacobson. The U-18’s scored a 3-0 win. Jonathan Dos Reis scored early in the second half and Stepjan Bandov added two goals.
Bandov scored the game-winner on Saturday, as his lone tally resulted in a 1-0 FCW U18 win over D.C. United. The U16s lost 2-0 to D.C. United, in a game also played Saturday.
The FCW U18s are 7-4-4 in the Northeast Division and are in the hunt for first place. The U16s’ record stands at 5-7-3.

FC Westchester U18s tied Oakwood 0-0 in this week's U.S. Soccer Development Academy play, while the U16s lost to Oakwood 2-1. Paolo Luciano scored the goal for FCW in that match.
Both teams will now travel this weekend to the Washington, D.C. area where they will take on D.C. United and the Potomac Soccer Club.
FC Westchester Ties Red Bull NY In Both U16 and U18 U.S. Soccer Development Academy Matches

FC Westchester tied both games it played today against Red Bull New York in U.S. Soccer Development Academy action.
In the U16 match, the teams tied 0-0. Chris Todd had the shutout in goal for FC Westchester.
In the U18 game, in a matchup of the two teams in first place heading into the weekend -- FCW in the Northeast Division and Red Bull in the Mid-Atlantic Division -- FC Westchester's Dameian Blackwood scored midway through the first half to give FC Westchester the 1-0 lead Then Johnny Exantus struck just after halftime to tie the game for Red Bull. Both teams had chances in the second half, but the game ended in the 1-1 deadlock.
FC Westchester U16s Top BW Gottschee Again, U18s Top Albertson, in U.S. Soccer Developement Academy Play

FC Westchester got a late first half goal from Nick Pourakis and it made it stand throughout to defeat BW Gottschee Saturday in a U16 U.S. Soccer Development Academy game. It was the second time in two weeks that FC Westchester topped BW Gottschee 1-0 in U16 Deveelopment Academy competition.
Pourakis took a pass from Brad Jacobson and slipped it by the keeper for the win with about five minutes to go in the first half. Goalkeepers Tim Mingione and Chris Todd split the shutout in goal for FC Westchester.
The U18 match between the clubs, slated for Saturday, was postponed and will be played on June 11th.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, the F.C. Westchester U18s scored four second half goals to topple Albertson Academy in a U18 U.S. Soccer Development Academy match. Albertson struck first with about five minutes left in the first half on a goal by Joseph Posillico. But F.C. Westchester struck back early into the second half on a goal by Jonathan Dos Reis. About 10 minutes later, F.C. Westchester took the lead for good on a goal by George Pourakis. Then, with about 15 minutes to go, Stepjan Bandov iced the game with a tally and FCW's John Gallagher scored in the final minutes to make the game 4-1.
The U16 match between F.C. Westchester and Albertson was postponed and will be played on May 31.
FC Westchester Takes Two From BW Gottschee in U.S. Soccer Development Academy Play Sunday

Queens, N.Y. (April 6, 2008) -- FC Westchester took both the U16 and U18 games against BW Gottschee Sunday by matching scores of 1-0 in U.S. Soccer Development Academy play.
In the U16 match, a goal with about 13 minutes to go in the game by Charlie Pirc clinched the game for FC Westchester.
In the U18 game, a goal with less than 10 minutes to go on a George Pourakis header off a set piece won the game for FCW.
In Saturday U.S. Soccer Academy games, the U16 FC Westchester team lost to Met Oval 2-1. Met Oval got their goals from Sebastian Guenzatti and Brian Periera, while the FC Westchester tally came from Brad Jacobson. In the U18 game, Henry Bega had the sole goal in the game for Met Oval.
FC Westchester Wins 2, Loses 1 and Ties 1 Vs. Cross Border Connecticut Rivals in U.S. Soccer Development Academy Action

F.C. Westchester had two wins, one loss and a tie in U.S. Soccer Development Academy action this weekend against cross border rivals South Central Premier and Oakwood S.C., both of Connecticut.
On Sunday, both the U16 and U18 teams of F.C. Westchester took home 2-1 wins vs. South Central Premier
In U16 Academy action, F.C. Westchester got a first half goal from Brad Jacobson and a second half tally from Paolo Luciano to nullify a second half free kick tally by South Central's Jesse Menzies.
In U18 action, David Reison gave FC Westchester a 1-0 lead in the first half, then early in the second half South Central got an equalizer from Musa Cisse off a free kick, but FC Westchester's Damiean Blackwood clinched the win bout 20 minutes later with a strike from just outside the six yard box.
On Saturday, the U18s scored a 1-1 tie with Oakwood, with Blackwood scoring on a penalty kick to equalize a Jayme Kapinos goal.
The F.C. Westchester U16s lost 1-0 on an Oakwood tally by Gerard Sager.
